            Kage's first, mysterious mention is made in Chapter 1:1 'Sewing the Black Seed'.

Kage comes from a well-bred family. His father is a famous fist-fighter that travels the world and his mother is his manager. As his father was his hero, Kage was eager to join a warrior academy much like his father did when he was much younger. He was enrolled in Kollack Academy. Kage was a keen and skilled warrior at Kollack academy, the sister school to Vinalden academy. He had a best friend which he had known all his life, Llewellyn. Together, they were inseparable. Llewellyn had always been better at fist-fighting than Kage, and Kage had always been secretly jealous. He began to become more violent and ruthless. After being punished many times, Kage became uncontrollable; having many fights with fellow student Canace Irianon was his last warning. Kage was dismissed from Kollack for good. Seeking revenge, he set a bomb in the main building. Llewellyn appeared and tried desperately to talk Kage out of it. Kage could not be swayed, the bomb blew up and automatically Llewellyn was tainted with the same brush as Kage for his sick plan for being at the crime scene. Being chased out of the academy, they came to a large cliff. Kage made it to the bottom and escaped, but Llewellyn fell and died instantly. Kage suffers from nightmares about the incident ever since.

Kage prefers to work alone. He is a skilled fist-fighter and is impulsive in his ways. He will do anything in his power to achieve what he wants and does not believe in quitting, and will not let anyone get in his way - ally or enemy. Despite his emotionless visage, he is quick to anger and can be very sadistic at times. He appears distant and un-sociable because he forbids himself from getting too close to anyone because of the unpleasant scenarios with his father and Llewellyn which still haunt him; also because he hates to think of himself as weak in any way, dismissing everyone's sympathy and pity, but also praise. He is mysterious, dangerous, and hates people questioning him and his ways. He has a head for battle, almost solider-like, but lacks compassion and care for others well-being and is a loner at heart.
